Launch of Barnet trades council

BARNET TRADES COUNCIL was launched at a lively public meeting on 22 April in Hendon town hall. We heard speakers from the Fremantle care workers’ dispute here in Barnet; the Hope Not Hate campaign (campaigning against the BNP); PCS and RMT unions; and the umbrella organisation for London trades councils [GLATUCs].

At this meeting and at the first trades council meeting in May we elected our officers, many of them doing a job-share.

...and our monthly newsletter

...You are reading the first issue of a monthly newsletter which will give details of trades council meetings, past and upcoming, diary events, and news and discussion pieces of interest to the trade union movement. I encourage you to contact me with pictures, news items, diary dates, etc. We cannot promise to put everything in, but we will certainly try to!
